Dry-Fit the Sink in Countertop Cutout
Lower the bare sink into the countertop cutout to test dimensions and clearance. Ensure the rim rests completely flat on all sides with roughly 1/4-inch clearance around the bowl walls inside the cabinet. Remove the sink and set it upright on a padded work surface.

- • Skipping dry-fit and discovering the cutout is too tight after applying wet silicone

Pre-Install Faucet and Strainer Baskets
Mount the kitchen faucet, spray wand, and drain strainer assemblies onto the sink while it sits outside the cabinet. Roll plumber's putty into a pencil-thick rope, press it under the strainer flange, drop the strainer in, and tighten the locknut underneath with channel-lock pliers. Thread and hand-tighten the faucet mounting nuts and supply line tubes from underneath the deck.

Clean dust and grease off the countertop surface around the cutout perimeter with rubbing alcohol. Load 100% silicone sealant into the caulk gun and apply a continuous, unbroken 3/8-inch bead around the edge of the opening where the sink lip will rest.

Lower Sink into Cutout and Position
Carefully lower the sink straight down into the cutout, feeding supply lines and faucet hoses through the opening first. Center the sink within the hole so the rim overhang is equal on the front, back, and sides. Press down firmly along all four edges to compress the silicone bed.

Connect Plumbing Lines and Test for Leaks
Thread braided supply lines onto hot and cold shutoff valves and tighten with an adjustable wrench plus a quarter turn. Connect the sink tailpiece to the P-trap using slip-joint nuts and washers, hand-tightening before adding a half turn with channel-lock pliers. Turn water valves on, run faucet on high, and inspect all joints with a dry paper towel for leaks.
